Create Intermediate Organizations

To create an Intermediate Organization and define its details:

  1. Click the tab for the view you are logged on to. For example, if you're in the District view, click the District tab.
  2. Click the Organizations side-tab.
  3. On the Options menu, click Add.

  1. In the Identifier field, type the identifier for the organization.
  2. Type the organization's Name. This name appears at the top of every page in the system and on every report.
  3. At the Time zone drop-down, select the time zone that most closely matches the time zone for your intermediate organization. This should be the time zone where the schools in this organization are located.
  4. Note: If you do not select a time zone for an organization, the parent organization's time zone is used.

  1. The Parent Organization > Name and Organization Definition > Name will be entered automatically when you save the page. Aspen sets the parent organization based on the view you are logged on to.
  2. For example, suppose you have defined organization level 1 as "Region," and you have created an organization within that level called "Northern Region." Assume that you are logged into the "Region" view, and "Northern Region" is selected as your current organization. Organizations created within this view will be automatically saved as level 2 children to "Northern Region."

  1. Click Save.

You can define additional details for intermediate organizations in the Intermediate Organization view. You can also set preferences for each intermediate organization.
