Schedule Process Log

Schools can allow future student schedule changes in the student schedule Workspace via a school Schedule preference.

When a future student schedule change is made, a Pending Student Schedule Change record is created. This is a Student Schedule Change record that has an Effective Date after the date the change was initiated.

When the Effective Date is reached, a background procedure processes the change and updates the student’s schedule. If the background procedure cannot make the change, such as dropping a section that no longer exists in the student’s schedule, the reason is noted in the Process Log field of the Student Schedule Change record. The Student Schedule Change record is no longer pending.

In addition, the background procedure updates the course section’s future enrollment, inclusion, and weight totals.

The schedule process log lists the former Pending Student Schedule Change History records that were processed by the background procedure.

Note: In the School view, Schedule tab, Master side-tab, if you manually update the content term codes for a course section’s Schedule Master record, go to Options > Recalculate enrollment totals to recalculate future enrollment totals immediately.

To view the process log:

  1. Log on to the School view.
  2. Click the Schedule tab.
  3. Click the Schedules side-tab, and then click Process Log.
  4. Click the Filter drop-down to view records for the following:
    • Today – Displays those records processed on the current day.
    • All Processed Records – Displays all records that were processed.
    • All Records – Displays pending and processed records.

For each record, the list displays:

  • Change date – Date the change was initiated.
  • Effective date – Date the schedule change was or will be made effective.
  • Action date – Date the change was processed. NULL if the schedule change could not be made.
  • Name – Student’s name.
  • Type – Type of change, such as Add or Drop.
  • Course – Course section affected by the change.
  • Descriptions – Description of the course.
  • Term – Term for the course section.
  • Schedule – Schedule for the course section.
  • Change Detail – Update transcript and gradebook scores information.
  • Process Log – Reason why the schedule change could not be made.
