Define elementary student scheduling parameters
Define scheduling parameters for elementary students. These scheduling parameters include any times the student might not be available to be scheduled, and the student’s platoon code.
To define student scheduling parameters:
- Log on to the Build view. If the current school has the scheduling mode set to Both, select Build > Elementary mode.
- Click the Student tab.
- Select a student, and click the Details side-tab.
The top of the page displays information about the student from the School view.
- At the Next Homeroom field, click
to select the student’s homeroom for the next year.
Note: To update the Next Homeroom field for several students, click the Student tab. Use a query, or select students you want to enter the same homeroom for. On the Options menu, click Show Selected. On the Options menu, click Mass Update. Using the Field drop-down, select Next Homeroom. This way, you can assign several students to a next year homeroom at the same time. |
- The bottom of the page contains scheduling-specific fields.
- Select the Include in scheduling checkbox if you want to schedule this student for next year.
- If there are times the student will not be available to be scheduled, click Edit Schedule at the Unavailable schedule field. Select the days and times the student is unavailable, and click OK.
- At the Platoon field, select a platoon for this student, if applicable. Platoons serve to create a special group of students within a homeroom group who have different schedules than other students in the homeroom group.
- Click Save.
- To view or edit other information for any student, select the student, and do one of the following:
- Click the Schedule side-tab to view the student’s schedule for next year.
- Click the Schools side-tab to view or edit the student’s school for next year.
- Click Snapshots to view or add the student to a snapshot.
